BOURJOIS│ROUGE EDITION VELVET

14:29

Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks by Bourjois have been all the rage ever since they came out. I've seen them on countless blogs and had to try them out myself. Not so long ago they added three new shades to the range, as well as a new, more glossy display named Aqua Lacque. At the moment I own three shades (Peach ClubNude-ist & Grand Cru), which you will hear all about below, and have my eyes set on two more (Frambourjoise & Ole Flamingo) so any experience with the latter is more than welcome!

I would describe Rouge Edition Velvets as a hybrid between a lip gloss and lipstick, having the easy application of the first and nice pigmentation of the second. Both depend on the shade, but are generally good. They dry matte, which is my preferred finish and probably the reason I like them so much. It also means they can dry out your lips a bit and look patchy, so make sure you take care of your lips before you apply these. I find them quite long lasting, they survive drinking but have to be touched up after eating, which is normal. Other than that they last for hours on my lips and fade evenly, living a bit of a tint behind. My only regret is that the new shades from the range are not available in my country, because they look lovely and perfect for every day wear.
